Choosing a college major to pursue can be difficult when so many options look good. Although it takes some work, clarity about the path you want to take is crucial to your long-term happiness and personal development. This test will use a forced-choice matrix to help you determine what you really think about several college majors, including some interesting choices that other tests dont offer.

A forced-choice matrix is a very helpful way to rank a list of things by importance. Heres how it works:

When you press the Start button, youll be presented with a long list of majors, such as Architecture, Biology, English, Urban Studies. Your college may have slightly different names for some, but most majors are represented. Scroll through the list and select the majors that most resonate with you. When youre done, you will be asked to compare every major you chose, two at a time. Suppose youre presented with this pair: Architecture or Urban Studies. They may both be interesting to you. Ask yourself: which is more important to me? If I could only have one of these two, which would I choose? Then select the one that is your higher value. When you are finished, you will see a list of all the majors you chose and the rank you gave them.
